Dylan Carver is a promising grad student with a bright future. Although his imprisoned father has been a thorn in his side his whole life, Dylan is determined to set his own path without him. With his beautiful girlfriend at his side, and his loving mother encouraging him, Dylan is on the path to success...until tragedy strikes this already economically depressed city: a chemical spill at his mother's work (Brunetex Construction Supply) renders her and 25 other women mysteriously ill.

The Brunetex Corporation denies any wrong doing, thus refusing to pay any medical bills. As everyday passes, these 26 women become increasingly sick – Dylan's own mother is ravaged by the illness at the cost of one of her lungs. She needs a transplant now, or she's sure to die. Dylan can't wait for lawyers or protest rallies to get the money. He has to act now. He must convince Brunetex to pay-up...by any means necessary.

He and 5 other victims in this crisis decide to take matters into their own hands and do whatever it takes to save the lives of their dying family members. They call themselves the Black Angels.

The primary goal against Brunetex is to cripple their ability to make money, thus twisting their arm until they have no choice but to pay their due medical expenses. The Black Angels launch their first big mission against Brunetex by sabotaging the main Brunetex facility. They hit them hard and fast costing Brunetex thousands in lost time and repairs. But Mr. Brune (the Brunetex CEO) isn't so easily scared. This sabotage only strengthens his resolve to fight the accusations against him. Furious, the Black Angels hit them several more times, each time costing Bruntex more and more money – but still Mr. Brune won't bend.

Being an old-school, street-wise business man, Brune sends out his personal henchmen to find out who these Black Angels are, and to put a stop to them once and for all. This sends Dylan and his gang on the run and breaks their spirit. Meanwhile, Dylan's father wants to make amends from prison and try to help his mother anyway he can, but Dylan's hatred for his childhood abandonment only fuels his hatred for Brune's company abandonment as well. And to make matters worse, Dylan's own mother suddenly dies when her lungs collapse from the mysterious illness.

All seems lost. His mother is dead, the Black Angels are broken and powerless, and his girlfriend can't support his criminal ways anymore. Desperate and alone, Dylan is determined to avenge his mother. He hatches a plan to end this conflict...permanently.

He follows Brune to a local club where Dylan devises a plan to make Brune pay for his crimes. After scouting out his final mission, Dylan sells all his belongings and buys an untraceable gun. He hires a sexy escort to lure Brune back to a sleazy motel. There, Dylan ties Brune up, unleashes his rage on him, and aims to put a bullet in Brune's head...but he's finding killing to be harder than he thought. Just as he musters up enough courage to pull the trigger, Dylan discovers Brune has a 6 year-old son he didn't know about. Dylan is instantly defused and broken when he realizes he'd be taking away this innocent kid's father – no matter how despicable he is. Dylan can't do it. He lets Brune go.

Just then, Brune's henchmen break into the motel room, but not before Dylan narrowly escapes. The chase is on. Dylan races through the city streets to avoid the henchmen. Meanwhile the cops pick up his reckless trail and join the pursuit. Dylan is eventually cornered on a bridge where his only way out is to jump into the cold, black waters below. But this isn't the end of Dylan Carver. The EMTs revive him, and he's promptly sentenced to jail for his crimes.

After the other Black Angles are rounded up and arrested, Dylan's father, now out of jail himself, comes to visit Dylan in prison in a cruel turn of irony. His father only wants forgiveness for his sorted past, but Dylan can't seem to find it in him. After clutching to hate and anger for so many years, Dylan's spirit is finally cracked when he realizes his only option is to let his father into his life. And so he does. Despite his efforts to bring down Brunetex, to right the wrongs of the evil men in his life, he's forced to face his crimes in jail...but allowed to forge a new relationship with the only person who still loves him.
